BABIES LEVEL 3

AGE GROUP: 11 MONTHS - 15 MONTHS

OLDER BEGINNERS AND EXPERINCED BABIES

Older and more water-confident babies

Our more experienced and older babies are becoming stronger, more co-ordinated and confident.  They continue to consolidate the skills they have acquired and learn new ones, while becoming more independent and self-assured.

This is a period of transition from babyhood to toddlerhood - a time of many changes on all levels of development. Lesson plans and activities at level 3 reflect these changes. A baby is usually comfortable and confident with going into and under the water, becoming more curious and eager to play and watchful of the other swimmers in class.

During Babies Level 3, submersions continue to be child-led, sometimes child initiated.  Submersions and releases increase in length and depth. Children are also learning to balance and move around the pool with floatation aids and encourages more independence.  There is some increase in the pace of class, as we start to prepare them for the toddler levels and the changes in class structure.

One parent per child is required in the water for babies, and toddlers.
