Aquababies has been teaching this age group to swim for over 30 years and is responsible for introducing the unique baby and toddler swimming program worldwide. Aquababies Global has developed several brand aqua based fitness programs, PABA (Parent and baby Aquafit), and Parent & Baby Spa. Both world first innovative products.
Classes are a multi-sensory, parent and child activity with an emphasis on safety and learning through play. With younger babies, teachers work with the baby’s natural reflexes and encourage water awareness and confidence. Older babies, toddlers and pre-schools continue to develop swimming, breathing and safety skills, building strength, stamina, agility and social skills alongside their natural development. All age groups are great quality time and promote the attachment and bonding processes with the accompanying adult.
Our techniques encourage the early development of a baby’s natural swimming skills, enhancing their general health, awareness, eating and sleeping patterns and also strengthening their cardio-respiratory functions. Our teaching methods are research based and focused on gentle, encouraging exercises suited to each individual child’s level of physical, emotional and social development. Aquababies Malta teachers are all professionally trained (STA) and certified specifically to teach adult and child classes for children between 2 months and 5 years old
MEET THE FOUNDER
JULIE-ANN JAMES
Julie-ann is personally involved in the training of all new Aquababies teachers and is a tutor for two governing bodies: The UK STA and SCTA Swim Australia.
She still teaches classes and has a roster of private clients for one-to-one sessions. Satisfied customers include Dido, Robin van Persie, Thierry Henry, Tony Blair, Jack Dee, Ruby Wax and Pat Cash and many more.
Liliana Micallef
Hello i’m Liliana – Malta’s Aquababies Franchisee, also a teacher and tutor in baby and pre-school swimming. I’m a proud grandma to three adorable girls, love to travel and swim and also hold nature and animals close to heart.
Working with children in diverse situations has been tremendously rewarding and enriching for me and, a career change in 2014 saw me move from social work to baby and pre-school swimming. Aquababies has enabled me to use a lifelong passion for working with young children and provide an amazing aquatic learning environment for young swimmers. This is the perfect fit for me.
I am a firm believer in encouraging and guiding each child to explore the world around them and that each little curiosity is an exciting learning experience for them. Their joy in learning brings much joy to me.
